We promised devotion in sickness and health.  I just didn’t think the sickness would be a need to spend money we didn’t have on every electronic device to get a patent.  Dear Gary never read the advice about not buying the first release of a product – he’s the kind of guy who takes a day off work to stand in line to buy the new iPhone.

I was the one who stayed up late at night trying to figure out how to pay the bills.  Which was an impossible and frustrating task as I saw us sink financially into this sad cliché.  After four years of marriage, despite my best efforts, we had bad credit.  Horrible credit, actually. I knew it was time to leave.

But when I started looking at apartments (I found one in Rossmoor, not far from my job near the Los Alamitos airfield), I discovered a new dilemma. The leasing company told me I needed two month’s rent for the security deposit.  

I could afford the $900 each month, but not the $1800. But I had to make this work somehow – I did not want to sleep on my girlfriend’s couch.

I checked for words like “emergence money,” “money tree”, “unclaimed cash,” “fast cash” and then thought of “instant car title loans.” I came across Car Title Loans in Long Beach.  My Honda Accord is paid for, which is all they ask for.  I took out $3000 for the security deposit and some new furniture.  

It came with an online application – and I was very happy to avoid that car title place on Long Beach Boulevard.  I had the money the following morning, signed the lease the next day and moved out two weeks later.  From here on in, it’s going to be a much better managed situation.
