Visiting mom because of Car Title Loans in Long Beach
Thursday, October 30th, 2008I moved to California to get away from the cold and, to be honest, away from family. But when my mother called to say this might be her last Christmas, I knew I had to go back.
So of course this hits the year airfares have gone sky high. That plane ticket to Cleveland, even with connections, would cost $600 round trip. I don’t have that kind of money. I had to file bankruptcy because of the problems in my divorce, so I have bad credit and no credit cards.
I didn’t have an alternative plan, but then I thought about an auto title loans store I pass three or four times a week on Cherry Avenue. That kind of place doesn’t draw me in – I’m not sure I want to stand in line to talk to someone through bulletproof glass. But I did a Yahoo search for “loan for my car title” and “fast cash” and I found Car Title Loans in Long Beach. They said my 2001 Accord was good enough for that $600 – and I could get it in a day. That was the important part: Two days later, those fares all went up $80. Because I could act fast, I saved money. That’s how it is around holidays.
The online application was very simple and only took about 15 minutes – I did it on my lunch hour at my desk. The cash was in my bank account the next morning, just as promised, and I bought the ticket online through my debit card.
Mom, I’m coming home this year. Who would ever think that old car could get me across the country back to Ohio?
